Brighton's Vidosic on Arsenal: "Not one to shy away from"

It's another tough game for Dario Vidosic's Brighton on Wednesday evening as they host Champions League-hunting Arsenal at the Broadfield Stadium, as the Gunners look to secure their qualification on the night.

It will be the second time in little over a month that the pair face each other; Brighton emerged victorious in April, defeating the Gunners 2-0 and knocking them out of the FA Cup in the process.

The Seagulls have been on an impressive run as of late, defeating league leaders Manchester City 3-2, following on from the Arsenal victory. They looked destined for another win at the weekend against Manchester United before a 94th-minute equaliser from Lea Schüller.

In his press conference, Vidosic hinted that there is some disappointment in the camp following the result at the weekend, but the overall mood is still very much positive ahead of them welcoming Arsenal.

I think naturally there is a little bit of disappointment, you know, especially in the manner that we concede the equaliser.

So few little mistakes all the way and then leads to a goal. So you know, there was, I think, not just the goal, but I think there was a lot of things that we took a lot of good learnings from.

So that's a big positive, and we will need to learn from that because we know we've got you know starting from tomorrow night, there's still some very, very tough games on the horizon.

"We were our own worst enemies"

The Brighton head coach went on to explain that the manner of the goal at the weekend was the aspect he was most disappointed about. However, Vidosic explained it was the second half in general and poor game management that cost them all three points.

Look, it's not just the focus on the goal. So we want to obviously fix so we don't concede goals, and I think we've been really, really good in that aspect.

But it was more just the large parts of the second half how we can manage things better.

So I think at times we were sort of our own worst enemies, and then yeah, in the end it led to them equalising and then taking that into the next game.
