Arsenal are reportedly set to offer Mikel Arteta a new contract this summer.
The Spaniard’s current deal at the Emirates runs until the summer of 2027, which has led to speculation regarding his long-term future at the club.
There has also been growing discussion surrounding Arteta’s position should Arsenal end another season without major silverware.
Now, a fresh update has emerged regarding his future.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are preparing to offer Arteta a new contract extension this summer.
It is understood the decision was made internally back in March, regardless of how the current campaign finishes.
Arteta’s full focus now remains on delivering major trophies, with Arsenal preparing for their first Champions League final in 20 years.

The Gunners will face either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on May 30.
Arsenal are also in pole position to win the Premier League for the first time since the 2003/04 season, with just three games remaining.
Manchester City currently sit five points behind Arteta’s side, although Pep Guardiola’s men still have a game in hand.
