Arsenal have been warned they will need to be "the best version of themselves" to stand any chance against PSG in the Champions League final. The French side became the second team to book themselves a spot in this season's showpiece after squeezing past Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate.

Arsenal had booked their spot in their first Champions League final for 20 years after beating Spanish side Atletico Madrid 2-1 on aggregate on Tuesday. Mikel Arteta's side will head into the final in Budapest as huge underdogs. PSG have been in sensational form this season and also claimed European glory for the first time in their history nearly 12 months ago.

Steven Gerrard, who won the competition with Liverpool, believes that label could potentially benefit Arsenal but has warned the Gunners that they still need to be on top form.

Speaking after PSG saw off Bayern on Wednesday, he told TNT Sports: "I know more than anyone else that an underdog can win this final. You know I played against that AC Milan side and it was a mismatch in terms of individuals and collectively, they were much better, but anything can happen in a final.

"They're playing against a high quality team, an elite manager, Arsenal will have to be the best version of themselves for the full game. Every single player's going to have to turn up, but of course they've got a chance. I think they'll be the underdogs which might suit them.

"If they can win the Premier League it'll give them immense belief and confidence going in. I think they have to use their physicality, their size. They'll need to make every set piece count and take PSG where they don't want to go and make it uncomfortable for them, but they've certainly got a chance."

Arsenal of course have other things on their mind before the final. Arteta's side also have the Premier League title in their sights and are favourites to claim the trophy.

Arsenal currently sit five points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City with just three games of the season to play. They will take on struggling West Ham this weekend ahead of a clash with Burnley. The Gunners round off their campaign with a showdown with Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Luis Enrique's side will also be aiming to get the Ligue 1 title sewn up before then. They are currently six points clear of Lens with just three games to play as they bid to emulate Real Madrid by becoming only the second team to retain the Champions League.
