Arsenal now face the huge task of refocusing on the Premier League title race. The Gunners travel to West Ham United on Sunday, just days after reaching the Champions League final.
Mikel Arteta's side are five points clear of Manchester City, who have played a game less than their title rivals. Arsenal received an unexpected boost from City drawing away at Everton on Monday and can edge a step closer to lifting the trophy with a win at the weekend.
However, the upcoming clash with West Ham comes shortly after the team’s hard-fought semi-final win over Atletico Madrid. Arsenal star Declan Rice delivered a clear message ahead of lining up against his former club this weekend.
Declan Rice sets target
Declan Rice has insisted that Arsenal must not allow Man City to gain ground in the Premier League table. The 27-year-old is preparing to face relegation-threatened West Ham, where he thrived after being released by Chelsea. However, he has demanded that the Gunners win all of their remaining games to end the club’s 22-year wait for a league title.
"That club gave me everything, without West Ham there's no me,” Rice told Prime Video. “I honestly believe that. They gave me a chance when Chelsea didn't.
“A lot of people there really pushed me on, (David) Moyes, (Slaven) Bilic and (Manuel) Pellegrini made me captain. There's loads of good things about that club, so it's not nice to see the position they're in.
"But it's football and I've got a job to do on Sunday. We're trying to win a Premier League title, we want to win every game and I'm sure they will want to as well, so let the best team win."
