Arsenal are set to offer Mikel Arteta a new contract this summer, regardless of if they go trophyless or not, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners reached their first Champions League final since 2006 thanks to a 2-1 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid, while they currently hold a five-point advantage in the Premier League title race with three games remaining, although Man City have a game in hand.
But while they are yet to get their hands on any silverware, the north London club have already made a decision on the future of the manager beyond this summer.

According to Romano, Arsenal are set to offer Arteta a new long-term contract this summer to extend his stay with the club.
Arteta's current contract expires in 2027, but it's understood that a decision was made as long ago as March to proceed with offering him fresh terms and an extension, and was made regardless of the end of season results.
Arteta is currently keen to focus on winning the titles for the remainder of the season, but is 'in love' with the Arsenal project and is looking forward to talks, with an agreement not expected to be an issue.
Arsenal will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Budapest at the end of the month, while their final three Premier League games will see them take on West Ham, Burnley, and Crystal Palace.

Arteta has been a sensation since coming into the club, winning the FA Cup in his first season, and now building one of the best squads in Europe to become one of the best sides around.
Not winning has been a bit of a stain on his legacy so far, but this season has cemented him as one of the best managers in the Premier League, and even in Europe, and Arsenal would be mad to even consider letting him move on.
It's a match made in heaven, and handing him a new contract is the sensible decision from all involved. Arsenal fans can rejoice.
