Spurs icon Harry Kane names his 'favourites' for the Champions League final after playing PSG…

With the semi-finals over, the 2025/26 Champions League finalists have been revealed. Arsenal will take on current holders Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on 30 May.

The Gunners picked up a 2-1 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid, with Bukayo Saka scoring the only goal in the 1-0 second leg win at the Emirates. That was enough to send Mikel Arteta's team into their first Champions League final since 2006.

PSG were able to hold off Bayern Munich, drawing 1-1 in Germany, having won the first thrilling leg 5-4 in Paris. Harry Kane scored both home and away but that wasn't enough to get his team across the line.

Kane and Bayern have now come across both Arsenal and PSG in the Champions League this season, and with that experience in mind, the English striker has named his favourites to go on and win the competition.

Kane Still Aiming For Bayern Munich Double

Harry Kane and Marquinhos in PSG vs Bayern

Bayern played Arsenal at the Emirates in November, with the home team picking up a 3-1 win. It was a tight game, with Jurrien Timber netting first before Lennart Karl made it level before half-time.

After the break, goals from Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli sealed a win for the Gunners, which was vital in Arteta's side finishing top of the League Phase, three points clear of Bayern in second. Had the German side finished top, they would have been on the other side of the draw, avoiding PSG in the semi.

Their French opponents proved too much across the tie, however, with Ousmane Dembele's early goal in Munich giving his team a two-goal lead to defend. Bayern were unable to break down their opponents until the 94th minute, but Kane's effort proved to be little more than a consolation.

Reflecting after the game, Kane spoke about which team he felt were now the 'favourites' to win the 2026 Champions League. He said:

"In my opinion, PSG are slightly favourites in the final.

He also added:

"It's tough. We had enough chances today to reach the final. Now my focus is on the DFB-Pokal final. We have the chance to win the double."

Luis Enrique Expects 'Difficult' Final Vs Arsenal

Paris St Germain coach Luis Enrique talking during a press conference

Most people will probably see PSG as the favourite, having won the competition last year, but the French team would be foolish to underestimate the Gunners. Manager Luis Enrique spoke about his upcoming opponents after the win in Germany, saying:

"I appreciate Mikelito Arteta! We used to be teammates [at Barcelona] when we were kids, he did a great job at Arsenal. It will be a difficult, hard game but we believe in our football style."

When asked about his side's efforts against Bayern, Enrique said: "The character we showed against a team like Bayern is so positive. We're so happy to reach a second Champions League final in a row. It was very intense.

"Very difficult. They play football at the highest level. Both teams are similar, we love to press higher. We are very happy. In two days I'm going to celebrate my birthday. I'm very happy. We're in the next phase of the competition, the final of the Champions League. We want to give our supporters that kind of gift."

The final will be played as Puskás Aréna on 30 May, with a slightly earlier 5:00pm (GMT) kick-off time.
