OG Anunoby injury update: Insider warns Knicks before Game 3

ESPN insider Tim MacMahon raised serious doubts about OG Anunoby's availability before the New York Knicks' crucial Game 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The New York Knicks could be without one of their most important playoff players heading into Game 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

ESPN insider Tim MacMahon shared a worrying update about OG Anunoby before the second-round NBA playoff matchup, raising major doubts about the forward's availability.

"I mean, the guy strained his hamstring a couple nights ago and he's questionable. I don't know who they're trying to fool. There's no way OG Anunoby can play tonight," he said per ESPN's Get Up. "I mean, it's ludicrous. We saw Aaron Gordon play last year on a strained hammy. It was a game seven. He didn't play well."

"We saw Anunoby a couple years ago come back after missing four games and try to go on a strained hamstring. He dragged his leg around for five minutes, got absolutely torched. He can't play. The hope is he can be back, maybe at some point later this series, maybe next series, because I do agree with Vince. They need OG Anunoby, and they need him at his best to get to the finals. If you play him tonight, you're risking losing him for the rest of the postseason," MacMahon concluded.

Anunoby has been diagnosed with a right hamstring strain after suffering the injury during the Knicks' Game 2 victory.

The two-way forward has been one of New York's top performers in the playoffs so far. Anunoby is averaging 21.4 points per game in the postseason, making him the Knicks' second-leading scorer.

Before leaving Game 2 against Philadelphia, the 28-year-old delivered another strong performance with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals.
