Nuggets offseason plans for Jokic and roster shake-up now clear

Denver Nuggets head into the offseason with Nikola Jokic firmly at the center of their plans, as CEO Josh Kroenke confirmed the team is open to roster changes but will not consider trading their franchise star.

The Denver Nuggets are heading into a crucial offseason with their plans around Nikola Jokic and the roster now coming into focus after comments from team CEO Josh Kroenke.

Speaking about the direction of the franchise, Kroenke made it clear that the organization is open to changes, but there is one key exception when it comes to their superstar center.

"Everything is going to be on the table. Outside of trading Nikola [Jokic], I should be clear because my words got twisted in an interesting way last summer. But yeah, I think everything is on the table outside of trading Nikola. I think we need to have running it back as a possibility," he said in a press conference.

That message puts Jokic right at the center of Denver's long-term plans, while also confirming that the rest of the roster could look different next season.

The Nuggets are expected to explore adjustments after another strong but demanding campaign led by their franchise player.

Jokic continues to be the clear foundation of the team and is eligible for a massive four-year extension worth more than 290 million dollars this summer. A new deal is widely expected to be completed soon.

On the court, the Serbian star once again delivered at an elite level. He finished the season averaging 27.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game, recording another triple-double season and reinforcing his status as one of the most dominant players in the league.
