Following the Boston Celtics’ disappointing playoff exit, blowing a 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers, changes are expected to come in the offseason. That was pretty much confirmed by Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens. But what changes could those be and could it possibly include a Jaylen Brown trade amid contract extension talks?
The outcome of any contract extension talks between Jaylen Brown and the Celtics could very well determine a potential trade, as per ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Siegel. Brown is eligible for a two-year extension worth around $141.9 million. If Brown does not agree to the extension, then a possible trade could be on the table.
Brown recently stated that he would like to remain with the Celtics long term while appearing on a live stream. He is coming off an MVP-caliber season in which the team out-performed expectations, securing the No. 2 overall seed in the Eastern Conference amid Jayson Tatum’s injury recovery.
