Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has undergone right heel surgery after dealing with lingering injury problems during the playoffs, Brett Siegel reports.
Ingram's injury became a major issue during Toronto's first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The star forward exited the Raptors' Game 5 loss early because of right heel inflammation and was unable to return.
Earlier, according to Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic, Ingram reaggravated the same heel injury that had already bothered him during the closing stretch of the regular season.
Despite the injury setbacks, Ingram still produced strong numbers throughout the year and remained one of Toronto's main offensive weapons.
In 77 games this season, Ingram averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range.
