Nuggets owner reveals plans regarding a Nikola Jokic trade

The Denver Nuggets have plenty still to figure out this summer.

Would they trade Nikola Jokic to solve their problems?

That sounds like the one thing that isn't on the table.

Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke spoke to reporters on Friday and summed up the offseason plans like this:

"Everything's on the table right now, outside of trading Nikola."

It certainly makes sense that the Nuggets wouldn't want to send their generational talent away.

What his comments are going to do now is start the speculation on trades for some of the Nuggets' other big pieces.

They traded Michael Porter Jr. last offseason in a deal to acquire Cam Johnson, and while it may not have panned out the way they hoped, it showed that they would consider such a move.

So this offseason, could that mean Jamal Murray? There have already been trade rumor headlines involving the sharpshooting Canadian guard.

What about Aaron Gordon? He certainly seems like the type of player another contender would want if he were available.

Obviously, the Nuggets wouldn't want to make deals that make their team worse. Jokic is still in his prime, and they'll want to maximize that.

But clearly they know something might have to change to reach their ceiling once again. Jokic has one ring, but to get him another might require some more work.
