All but Nikola Jokic ‘on the table’ amid rising Nuggets offseason trade speculation

The Denver Nuggets had their playoff run cut short in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and there will be many questions surrounding the franchise this offseason. After making several moves last offseason, it seemed as if the Nuggets were in a prime position to make another championship run.

Unfortunately, injuries hurt them during the season, including Peyton Watson, who missed the end of the season, and Aaron Gordon, who was sidelined for a few games in the first round. Defensively, they weren't able to stop the Timberwolves, and they couldn't seem to get much going on offense. Now, they'll have to go back to the drawing board to try to get back to their dominant ways.

There are already signs that they're going to be making some big moves, and Josh Kroenke was honest about the offseason plans.

“I think that everything is gonna be on the table outside of trading Nikola [Jokic]. I think we need to have running it back as a possibility,” Kroenke said.

"I thought that if this group was healthy that this could be a 60-65 win team, but we never got a chance to fully show it."

"That's why I say everything has to be on the table, including running it back. I really do believe in the group…"

As of now, it seems as if David Adelman is safe from being on the hot seat, especially with this being his first full season as the head coach. He and Jokic also have a strong relationship, which should save him from any drastic changes.

Jamal Murray is also another person who should be safe, as he had his first All-Star season, and the Nuggets are paying over $160 million through the 2028-29 season. According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, there are three players who should be on watch to possibly be moved this offseason.

“That is why, when it comes to the Nuggets' limited assets and potential moves to be made on the trade market, it is almost certain that changes will be made to the team's formidable trio of secondary contributors: Aaron Gordon, Cam Johnson, and Christian Braun,” Siegel wrote.
