Nick Nurse gives Knicks’ OG Anunoby props for ‘unbelievable’ play vs. 76ers

With the New York Knicks being without star OG Anunoby for Game 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers, there's no denying the impact that will be missed without the forward. As the Knicks hope to survive without Anunoby for Game 3, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse would give props to the 28-year-old.

Consequently, speaking ahead of Game 3 on Friday, Nurse would express how “unbelievable” Anunoby has been against the 76ers and even in the first playoff series vs. the Atlanta Hawks.

“Well, first of all, OG's been unbelievable, like he's been amazing, both in the Atlanta series and this series. I mean, he has been as good as I've ever seen him, like, I mean, like, he just keeps getting better and better. And testament to him to keep continue to, you know, just keep playing. Again, he guards every position, shootings been great. Now he's even, his cutting game is great. Once he dribbles inside the line, he used to kind of think, well, let's force him inside the line, and who knows what's going to happen now, he's dunking on people and hitting that 17-footer.”

Looking at Anunoby's numbers against the Hawks in the first round, he averaged 21.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 61.1 percent from the field and 56.7 percent from three-point range. As Nurse mentioned, Anunoby has also been exceptional against the 76ers in the two games ahead of Game 3, scoring 18 and 24 points in Games 1 and 2, respectively.

Subsequently, the impact of Anunoby's missing Game 3 is one that Nurse is interested in seeing regarding the length of New York's lineup.

“He's been doing everything at a super high level,” Nurse said. “I mean, I don't know. I got to see what happens. Which way do they go? They could go both ends of the spectrum. They could go big, really big, or they could even go really small, right? So I just got to see what happens, and how that impacts it.” Anunoby said.

At any rate, it remains to be seen how much time Anunoby misses for the Knicks.
