‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin Catchphrase Used To Mock Los Angeles Lakers Star

Social media brought WWE legend ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin back into the spotlight for a moment this week, when he was used to throw some shots at an NBA star.

This week, the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder have been battling in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. On Thursday, the Lakers lost Game 2 125-107 to fall behind the series 2-0, and fans weren’t happy.

On social media, fans quickly took to lamenting the loss, but various popular accounts got to trolling. Hater Report, a popular account on X known for posting troll-esque posts about games and, specifically, athletes’ poor performances, took to social media to share a wrestling-related edit.

In the post, Hater Report shared Lakers star Austin Reaves’ rough performance. Instead of an image of Reaves, though, the account shared a photoshopped image of Reaves with Steve Austin’s face on it. The star, who went 3-16 from the field in the game, was quickly dubbed “Austin 3:16,” and fans took part in the jokes almost immediately.

Reaves will look to bounce back in Game 3 of the series, which takes place tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. EST.
