Jalen Brunson and Mike Brown had their praises to share about Mikal Bridges following his remarkable performance in the New York Knicks' Game 3 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.
Going into the contest, New York missed key starter OG Anunoby due to a hamstring injury. While his timeline is day-to-day, they needed to handle Philadelphia without his services for Game 3.
That is where Bridges stepped in, delivering a quality performance on both sides of the ball. In 37 minutes of action, he finished with 23 points, three rebounds, two steals, and an assist. He shot 8-of-14 from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Brown and Brunson reacted to Bridges' outing after the game, via SNY. They provided immense praise for the star wing, knowing his services were crucial to pulling off the road win.
“I would not be doing my job if I didn't point out the continued work that Mikal is doing at the point of attack when it comes to Maxey,” Brown said. “With OG out, we were down a big wing. Mikal had to take that part over.”
“It's a testament to who he is and how he prepares himself and how he gets ready for the game,” Brunson said.
