If you didn't know any better, you’d think Game 3 was played at 33rd and 7th. The New York Knicks didn’t just beat the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night; their fans effectively colonized the Wells Fargo Center. After New York secured a 108-94 victory to take a commanding 3-0 series lead, the celebration inside the arena turned into a viral comedy show.
Viral clips captured groups of traveling New York faithful in the concourse and outside the stadium literally spanking the giveaway Sixers playoff shirts. It was peak New York energy, loud, slightly unhinged, and entirely disrespectful. It is one thing to lose a home game, but it is another to have the opposing fan base turn your own merchandise into a prop for a public roasting.
"I could say something that could get clickbaited but…No matter what it's loud. It's kind of the same no matter who the crowd's cheering for…"

The disrespect began long before the fans started slapping laundry. On the court, Mikal Bridges haunted the team that famously traded him on draft night, dropping 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Jalen Brunson acted as the ultimate floor general, carving up the Philly defense for 33 points and five assists. The most demoralizing moment, however, came from Mitchell Robinson, who finished with six points and six rebounds. Robinson’s thunderous alley-oop dunk directly over Joel Embiid served as the definitive exclamation point of the night.
Kelly Oubre Jr. acknowledged the strange atmosphere after the loss. “I could say something that could get clickbaited but… no matter what, it's loud,” Oubre noted. “It's kind of the same no matter who the crowd's cheering for.”
While Embiid managed 18 points and six rebounds, he looked gassed by the fourth quarter. Tyrese Maxey struggled mightily, finishing with 17 points on an 8-of-12 shooting performance. With the series sitting at 3-0, the Knicks are one win away from a sweep. If Philly does not find an answer fast, the only thing left to spank will be the “exit” sign on the 76ers' season.
