Arsenal face what could be a key game in the race for the Premier League title this weekend. The Gunners travel to take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm kick-off).

Before then, they will be keeping a close eye on how second-placed Manchester City get on against Brentford on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Going into the weekend’s fixtures, Arsenal are five points clear of City at the top of the table. City do, however, have a game in hand.

The lead means that Arsenal have their fate in their own hands, and know that wins in each of their last three league games will seal a first Premier League title in 23 years.

Arsenal

For Arsenal, Mikel Arteta confirmed that both full-back Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino will be unavailable for the game. Both are also big doubts to feature before the end of the season.

Timber has missed the last 11 games thanks to an ankle injury, while Merino is recovering after undergoing surgery on a fractured foot. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Arteta said : "No chance for them this weekend."

On whether the due will return before the end of the campaign, he said: "I don't know, there's still a fair bit to do, so everything has to be so smooth and quick if they want to have a chance to play any minutes.”
