NBA star Victor Wembanyama has claimed that he'll be cheering for PSG in the Champions League final later this month - and fired a dig at Arsenal, who would "not make it fun".

The Gunners made their first European Cup final in two decades by seeing off Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, securing a 1-0 victory on the night and a 2-1 win on aggregate. It was a cagey affair between two teams who are better known for their defensive qualities.

Nevertheless Arsenal remain unbeaten in the tournament to date, a period of 14 games, but their final opponents PSG will provide the toughest test yet. The Parisians are defending champions and downed the Gunners in the semi-finals 12 months ago.

PSG have been relentless in the knockouts, playing some sensational football to knock out Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich. They have a style that is effective and highly entertaining with Wembanyama backing them to win - and to ensure the game isn't boring.

He said on Amazon Prime Sport: "PSG of course, at least they’re going to make it fun, cause I know Arsenal ain’t".

Arsenal did get the better of PSG last year in the league phase before they clicked into gear, winning home and away against the Premier League side in their last four tie. Mikel Arteta though believes Arsenal can do a job on them what it comes to the showdown in Budapest.

He said: "It is what it is. We knew the level of the opposition that we had to face, either way, Bayern Munich or PSG. We know the quality that they have, and that's it. But obviously, we're also very confident that when we get to that moment, we're going to deliver what we need to."

Steven Gerrard claimed in the aftermath of the semi-finals that Arsenal would go into the final as underdogs, but needed to lean on their physicality and success from dead ball situations if they were to claim continental glory.

He said: "They're playing against a high quality team, an elite manager, Arsenal will have to be the best version of themselves for the full game. Every single player's going to have to turn up, but of course they've got a chance. I think they'll be the underdogs which might suit them.

"If they can win the Premier League it'll give them immense belief and confidence going in. I think they have to use their physicality, their size. They'll need to make every set piece count and take PSG where they don't want to go and make it uncomfortable for them, but they've certainly got a chance."
