Victor Wembanyama joins the Arsenal haters club with fiery final prediction

Victor Wembanyama has long been a devoted supporter of PSG, as he grew up in the Paris region. The San Antonio Spurs star has regularly been spotted at matches at the Parc des Princes and has expressed his strong loyalty to the club over the years.

When NBA great Steve Nash asked Wembanyama who he expects to win the upcoming UEFA Champions League Final between PSG and Arsenal, he didn’t hesitate to back his hometown team.

"Aww come on, PSG of course,” Wembanyama said in an appearance in the “Nightcap” podcast. “At least PSG gonna make it somewhat fun...Because I know Arsenal ain't."

The Champions League Final between the two sides is scheduled for May 30, and PSG reached there after the semifinal win over Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Arsenal has leaned on the tournament's statistically best defense to reach their first final in two decades.

As for Wembanyama's PSG support, he has been spotted at major Ligue 1 and Champions League fixtures, and his friendship with Kylian Mbappe has also strengthened his ties to the club. Mbappe even attended some of Wembanyama’s final games in France with Metropolitans 92 before the NBA star moved to the United States. This connection shows the growing crossover between football and basketball stars on the global stage.

"It underlines the impact we can have as NBA players," Wembanyama said, via Fox Sports. "It just reminds me of that responsibility that we have to make our best to make that impact positive. Overall, just bringing emotions to people and bringing it together."

As for Wembanyama's NBA career, he is currently leading the Spurs in the NBA Western Conference Semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves, helping his team secure a 2-1 lead in the series after the Game 3 win.
