The expectation right now is that Washington will select BYU standout AJ Dybantsa with the top pick.
That could mark a major shift for the Wizards, who already made huge additions at the trade deadline by bringing in Anthony Davis and Trae Young.
With the potential addition of Dybantsa, Washington could look like a dangerous team heading into next season.
When asked ahead of the lottery about potentially becoming the No. 1 pick, Dybantsa remained humble, saying it would be a great opportunity he has worked hard for.
"It's exciting," Dybantsa said ahead of the lottery. "Obviously, wanting to be the No. 1 pick. Working to be the No. 1 pick. So it'll be exciting. Great opportunity."
After the Wizards were announced as the lottery winners, cameras immediately turned to Dybantsa. He did not force a smile and appeared serious, with his reaction quickly going viral.

Dybantsa is projected to go No. 1 in the draft after an incredible freshman season at BYU, where he averaged 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists while leading his team to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 6 seed.
Besides Dybantsa, the draft class features several standout prospects, including Kansas' Darryn Peterson, Duke's Cam Boozer, UNC's Caleb Wilson and Arkansas' Darius Acuff Jr., among others.
