Anthony Edwards, Naz Reid react to Wembanyama ejection in Game 4

Anthony Edwards said the Minnesota Timberwolves actually had a lot harder time against the San Antonio Spurs after Victor Wembanyama was ejected from Game 4, because the rest of the team played with more freedom and confidence.

Victor Wembanyama was ejected during Sunday's 114-109 Game 4 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but Wolves star Anthony Edwards admitted that facing the San Antonio Spurs without Wembanyama was actually more difficult.

"I think it was kind of harder," Edwards said during the post-game conference. "I mean, of course, they're a really great team with him on the floor, but they play a lot slower when he's on the floor because everything revolves around him.

"When he's not on the floor, everybody is playing," he added. "It's just like when every team is missing their best player. Everybody plays free, they get more shots, more confident. So, I think it was a lot harder, honestly."

Officials initially called an offensive foul, but after a video review, the decision was upgraded to a Flagrant 2 foul for excessive contact above the neck.

"Pain is weakness leaving the body. That's it," Reid said after the game when asked about the incident and Wembanyama's ejection.

The Spurs reportedly do not expect Wembanyama to receive a suspension, and he is expected to be available for Game 5.

San Antonio will host Game 5 on Tuesday with the best-of-seven series tied 2-2.
