Anthony Davis has now been on three different teams that each won the NBA Draft Lottery (2019 Pelicans, 2025 Mavericks, 2026 Wizards).
The Washington Wizards won the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery on Sunday, overcoming 14% odds to secure the No. 1 overall pick.

What makes it even more remarkable is that 10-time NBA All-Star center Anthony Davis has now been part of a team that has won the lottery three times in his career.
Davis was with the New Orleans Pelicans when they won the Zion Williamson lottery in 2019. He was then on the Dallas Mavericks roster when they landed the Cooper Flagg lottery pick last year. Now, he is with the Wizards as they win the 2026 lottery.
Shortly after Washington secured the top pick, Davis posted three laughing emojis on his Instagram story.
AD was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Mavs last year, shortly before Dallas won the lottery and selected Flagg. This season, he was traded again before the deadline – this time to Washington – just before the Wizards landed the No. 1 pick.
Following the 2019 lottery win in New Orleans, Davis was traded to the Lakers.
The Wizards, who finished the season with a 17-65 record, are now expected to select AJ Dybantsa with the top pick when the 2026 NBA Draft takes place on June 23-24.
