Spanish defender Laia Codina will leave the club at the end of this season when her contract expires. Arseblog News understands there was an option for a further year in Codina’s contract which has not been triggered with the player keen to secure regular playing time ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Codina joined the club from Barcelona in 2023 having won the World Cup with Spain that summer, Laia has made 58 appearances and scored four goals during her time with Arsenal.
Codina has won a Conti Cup, coming on at half time in the 2024 Final against Chelsea which Arsenal won 1-0. She also won the Champions League and FIFA Champions Cup with the club.
