Manchester United and Arsenal battle to sign Cambiaso, but who actually needs him more?
Manchester United and Arsenal are currently locked in a three-way scrap with Liverpool for Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso. With the 2026/27 season approaching, the question of who actually needs him most doesn’t have a simple answer.
TEAMtalk has exclusively reported that Juventus have quietly let Premier League clubs know that Cambiaso could be up for grabs this summer, as the Turin giants look for ways to trim their squad and raise some cash. Since joining from Genoa in 2022, the 26-year-old has racked up 130 appearances for Juve, picking up eight goals and 17 assists along the way. While Inter Milan, Napoli, and Como are keen on keeping him in Italy, his availability has been pitched directly to several English sides.
The real point of attention with Cambiaso is his versatility. He is comfortable on either side as a full-back or wing-back and can even tuck into central midfield when needed. That flexibility comes paired with solid technical ability and a proven track record in Serie A.
That said, his numbers this season, three goals and five assists in 45 games, suggest he’s more of a reliable team player than a superstar who changes games on his own. Because he is under contract until 2029, Juventus hold all the cards and are sticking to a price tag of over £30 million, having already turned down interest from Manchester City in the past.

Does Cambiaso solve the right problem for Manchester United and Arsenal?
Manchester United are the ones with the obvious hole in their squad. Luke Shaw’s fitness is still a major question mark, and with Tyrell Malacia likely to move on for free, bringing in a dependable left-back has to be a priority for the upcoming season. For United, Cambiaso is a sensible, battle-tested option.

Arsenal aren’t in quite as much of a rush, as they have decent cover at left-back, but there is some talk about Ben White’s long-term role, which makes Cambiaso’s ability to play on the right just as interesting for the Gunners. When you look at it closely, Manchester United need him right now, while Arsenal likely see him as a smart way to add depth to a title-chasing squad. At around £30 million, Cambiaso is a fair deal, but neither side should get into a bidding war when there are cheaper options out there.
