NBA insider Ian Begley shared a positive update on Anunoby's condition during Putback with Ian Begley.

"Mike Brown is saying that it's still day-to-day, and I haven't heard anything that leads me to believe anything other than what I heard in the aftermath of the injury on the day we were getting into it, which was, this was a minor injury," Begley said.

"This was not a significant thing, and barring no setbacks, Anunoby will play in Game 1," he explained. "I feel very comfortable saying that just because of where this thing was in the day or two days after it happened. And now they'll have plenty of time to rest here and get whatever he needs to get back, his rhythm back, conditioning, and he'll be ready to go Game 1, whether it's Sunday or Tuesday. Again, barring some setback, some unforeseen setback, they should have OG Anunoby back."

Anunoby missed Game 3 and Game 4 against Philadelphia because of a right hamstring strain, but New York still completed a 4-0 sweep to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Knicks will now face the winner of the series between the Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers, with Detroit currently leading 2-1.

Before the injury, Anunoby was one of New York's top playoff performers. The two-way forward is averaging 21.4 points per game in the postseason.
