Recently, the New York Knicks completed a sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers with a Game 4 win on Sunday afternoon. The Knicks earned the last two wins of this series without OG Anunoby, who suffered a minor hamstring strain in Game 2 of the series last week.
Up next for the Knicks is the Eastern Conference Finals, which will take place against either the Cleveland Cavaliers or Detroit Pistons, depending on the outcome of their series.
Recently, Knicks insider Ian Begley made a declaration about Anunoby's potential status for Game 1 of that series.
“OG Anunoby will play in Game 1. I feel very comfortable saying that, just because of where this thing was in the day or two days after it happened,” said Begley, per Knicks Videos on X, formerly Twitter.

The earliest that the conference finals could get underway would be on Sunday, although it's possible that it could get pushed back to Tuesday, depending on how long the Pistons vs Cavs series goes.
Anunoby had been arguably the Knicks' best player in the postseason leading up to the injury, torching the Atlanta Hawks for six games in the first round and continuing his hot shooting through the first two games against Philadelphia. The fact that New York was able to get two wins on the “road” against Philadelphia without him in the lineup speaks volumes about their depth, as well as the coaching of Mike Brown.
For now, the priority for the Knicks and Anunoby will be resting up and recovering before the next round.
