After the Sixers suffered a disappointing four-game sweep from the Knicks in the East Semifinals, there are now significant rumblings surrounding the team's leadership, specifically around Daryl Morey.
The Philadelphia 76ers are set to have a highly anticipated offseason after coming up short this 2025-26 NBA season.

From outlasting the Boston Celtics via an inspiring 3-1 comeback in the opening round of the NBA Playoffs, the 76ers failed and disappointingly settled to get swept by the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Following recent reports that Daryl Morey and Nick Nurse's position will be evaluated, longtime Philadelphia reporter Howard is at least compelled about the chances that the 76ers president will be fired, posting his report on X (formerly Twitter).
Since his arrival, the 76ers still haven't gotten over the hump. Philadelphia is yet to make it out of the second round and reach the Conference Finals since 2000.
As such, Morey took questionable decisions also as the team's front-office boss. He signed Paul George to a four-year, $211.58 million max contract last 2024, but the former NBA star is already on a shell of his former self.
He also made headlines for trading Jared McCain at the last trade deadline, noting that they were "selling high" for the move, only for the deal to backfire as the sophomore guard has significantly thrived with the OKC Thunder while the Sixers suffered a backcourt depth loss.
After another dismaying season finish for the Sixers, Morey's future with the team will continue to be monitored.
