CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Detroit Pistons shut down Donovan Mitchell for a half.
It didn’t last.
Mitchell tallied an NBA record-tying 39 points in the 2nd half (43 overall) as the Cavs cruised 112-103 in game 4 Monday at Rocket Arena, tying the best-of-seven series at 2 games apiece.
Mitchell shot just 1-for-8 in the opening half but came out firing in the 3rd quarter, leading the Cavs on a 24-0 run; he scored 21 in the period.
Former Cav Caris LeVert starred for Detroit (17 points in the first half, 24 overall) as the Pistons took a 56-52 lead to the break.
Harden scored 11 quick points to start the game as Cleveland jumped out to a 16-5 lead.
Game 5 is Wednesday in Detroit.
