A woman was killed in a single-car crash on the 215 Freeway in Riverside on Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It happened at around 2:10 p.m. near the 215 Freeway and 60 Freeway interchange, CHP's incident log said. Officers issued a SigAlert as the investigation into the crash continued, closing all southbound lanes to traffic for several hours.
Witnesses told CHP investigators that the woman's car veered over the center divider and overturned several times before finally coming to a stop.
As the preliminary investigation into the crash continues, CHP officers have not yet disclosed how many occupants were in the car. They haven't yet identified the victim. It's unclear if anyone else was injured in the crash.
No further details were provided.
All lanes were reopened a little before 4 p.m.
