Arsenal join race for €60m Portuguese winger amid Liverpool interest 19
According to CaughtOffside, multiple Premier League clubs are interested in signing the Portugal international this summer.
It is understood that Liverpool hold concrete interest in Trincão and have already made initial enquiries over a potential deal.
However, Arsenal and Chelsea are also believed to be closely monitoring developments.
Previous reports have stated that Trincão has a €60m release clause in his current contract, putting a number of clubs on alert ahead of the transfer window.
Although the clause can be activated this summer, Sporting remain in a strong negotiating position as the winger’s deal runs until 2030.
Our View
One of Arsenal’s biggest priorities in the transfer market this summer is to sign a new left winger. Anthony Gordon, Rafael Leão and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are among several wide players who have been linked with a summer move to Arsenal.
However, Sporting CP’s Francisco Trincão could be an interesting signing for Mikel Arteta’s side. His versatility is a major advantage and something Arteta highly values when assessing potential transfer targets.
Trincão is capable of playing on both the left and right wing. In addition, he also has experience operating as a number ten behind the striker. With an active release clause of around €60m, Trincão could prove to be a bargain for interested clubs this summer.
