Jared McCain's near-impossible plus-minus with Thunder hammers home 76ers nightmare

The Philadelphia 76ers had to watch yet again Monday night as Jared McCain played well in an Oklahoma City Thunder uniform.

Regrets about that midseason trade seem unlikely to go away anytime soon.

On this particular night, as McCain and OKC finished off a second-round sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers, the numbers put up by McCain seemed almost impossible.

Not so much the 13 points, although those were solid off the bench on 5-for-10 shooting, including 3-for-8 from 3-point range.

This is about the fact that McCain was a plus-27 while playing 16 minutes in a five-point win.

So first, plus-27 in 16 minutes is incredible. It's a pace of plus-81 in a 48-minute game. That's absurd.

But how about plus-27 in a five-point win? That seems even more unlikely.

The Thunder were outscored by 22 points in the 32 minutes that McCain didn't play.

It's not like he was out there stuffing the stat sheet -- he had two rebounds and nothing else to go with his points.

Does that say +27 in a 5-point win??? pic.twitter.com/ndv6JqMAD4

But somehow, the lineups with McCain on the floor absolutely crushed the Lakers on Monday night, and so the Thunder are moving on and L.A. is going to their couches to join Philly at home after their respective second-round sweeps.

There are no do-overs, but the 76ers surely wish there were in regards to the McCain trade.
