Wrestling legend Ric Flair hasn’t been too happy with Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic for missing playoff games, and recently doubled down on his criticism.
Speaking to Yahoo Sports Daily recently, Flair was asked why he’s been so hard on Doncic as of late. For those unaware, Doncic has missed the entirety of the Lakers’ playoff games to date as he nurses a hamstring injury. Flair has been unhappy with that and has been very vocal on social media about Doncic not playing.
While he understands why Doncic is out, he also notes he has no sympathy for him after dealing with his own throughout his career.
“I’m not being hard on Luka, I’m having fun, I’m such a Laker fan, and I just honestly believe…of course, I don’t know anything about the extent of his injury, but the first time I saw it, I did the same thing to a quarterback for the [San Francisco] 49ers a couple years ago, I said ‘Get back in the game, man,'” said Flair.
“I’ve taken a cortizone shot and wrestled with a broken ankle, so I don’t have much sympathy for the hamstring. But, I know they protect their future, and I don’t blame them for that. They got guaranteed money.”
