Many fans duped by fake NBA Draft announcement for LeBron James' son

Bryce James is still waiting for his opportunity to play for the Arizona Wildcats next season. However, many fans were under the impression he would leave for the NBA.

After the Los Angeles Lakers were swept in Monday night's Game 4 Western Conference semifinal against the Oklahoma City Thunder, everyone is wondering what comes next for LeBron James. The NBA great brought his son, Bronny, along for the ride, and it's only fitting for the entire James family to be in Los Angeles.

"BREAKING: Bryce James has declared for the 2026 NBA Draft, with the Los Angeles Lakers showing significant interest," parody account Brian Caldwell posted on X.

What was a lighthearted jab at Bronny for being a second-round pick and following his dad on the back end of his journey with the Lakers, some people took it seriously. The viral post had 1.4 million views but couldn't be farther from the truth.

Bryce James decided to redshirt and start over again during the 2026-27 season in Tucson. Even if he wanted to leave college, it wouldn't be for the NBA at this point.

As for Arizona, Tommy Lloyd will pick up where he left off after getting bounced in this year's Final Four. This could be one of the Wildcats' best years in school history.
