Austin Reaves Addresses His Lakers' Future After Playoff Exit

The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs Monday night after a 115-110 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, a series that ended in four games.

Now, the Lakers enter an offseason filled with major decisions and uncertainty surrounding the future of their roster.

Outside of having Luka Doncic under contract, which remains the franchise's centerpiece, both LeBron James - an unrestricted free agent - and Austin Reaves, who is expected to decline his player option and also enter free agency, add further intrigue to the offseason.

Reaves addressed his future after the loss, and while he made it clear he would ideally like to remain in Los Angeles, he emphasized that he is taking things one day at a time and isn't overly focused on free agency.

"I'm gonna be honest, I've been around for five years and you guys know me pretty well … I don't think about much," Reaves said. "I take life day by day and I'm just blessed to play for this organization … I don't think about what I'm gonna do in the future."

Reaves just put together the best season if his pro career and has continuously improved each year in the NBA, which will likely have him line to receive a pretty large and long-term contract, which most expect to be with the Lakers.

He scored 27 points against the Thunder on Monday night, and averaged 23.3 points, which was second on the team behind Doncic, while also adding 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game.
