According to Dan Woike and Sam Amick of The Athletic, Doncic has had regular contact with the new Lakers owner and has been impressed with the level of communication during this period.
"Doncic has had regular contact with new Lakers owner Mark Walter and has been impressed with the level of communication," The Athletic reports. "Doncic has also mentioned how well he thought the Lakers played in March when the team went 15-2."
Walter purchased majority ownership of the Lakers from the Buss family at a valuation of approximately $10 billion - the largest sale of a professional sports franchise in history.
Meanwhile, the Lakers took a positive step forward this season, clinching the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference before ultimately ending their run in the second round of the playoffs against the OKC Thunder.
