Post-Lottery Mock Draft Has Kingston Flemings Going To Sacramento

Since the 2026 NBA Draft order has been locked in, with the Sacramento Kings falling two spots in the lottery to seventh, another round of mock drafts has been surfacing, with Kingston Flemings being the Sacramento Kings selection.

Jason Jones of The Athletic joined Kevin “Whitey” Gleason and Allen Stiles on The Drive Guys to give his reasoning for selecting the Houston freshman in their collaborative staff roundtable.

Friendly reminder that the post-lottery draft order begins with Washington, Utah, Memphis, and Chicago, followed by the LA Clippers and Brooklyn, before Sacramento general manager Scott Perry will be on the clock.

In The Athletic’s mock, the top four came as no surprise, with AJ Dybansta, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, and Caleb Wilson coming off the board in that order. It’s what most experts and draft analysts are expecting to take place on draft night.

Keaton Wagler went to the Clippers at five before Darius Acuff Jr. was selected by the Nets at six. Jones elected to take dynamic two-way guard Kingstong Flemings with the Kings’ pick at seven.

Stiles is more skeptical of Fleming’s upside and asks Jones what he sees in the guard’s game.

“I don’t know if you’re definitely missing anything. These guys are so young,” Jones told The Drive Guys. “You know, a lot of times they have that (one) game, or a couple of games, or you say, ‘Okay, he’s got some potential.'”

“I think right now this thing can change so much between now and the actual draft. Every year, there’s at least one guy who falls into that seven to 10 range that you didn’t think would be there, or they’ll fall off the top three, top five. Last year Ace Bailey was going to be a top-three pick, he slides down to Utah. So, I mean, you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

In his freshman season with the Cougars, Flemings averaged an impressive 16.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from beyond the arc. Coming into the season, many wondered if he was a candidate to do another season with Houston, where he could be the focal point as some key seniors moved on, but his play this season catapulted him into the mid to high lottery conversation, deservedly so.
