According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka said the Lakers want James back for next season.
However, Pelinka added that the Lakers want to "honor" LeBron by giving him time to make his decision.
Additionally, Pelinka reaffirmed that the Lakers want to bring back Austin Reaves and have expressed that sentiment to Reaves' representatives.
James would be entering his 24th NBA season next year.
The 41-year-old superstar proved he can still be a highly effective player in the league, leading the Lakers past the Rockets in the first round of the playoffs while averaging 23.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.3 assists this postseason.
