According to NBC4, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency call around 5 PM on Monday, and when paramedics got to the scene, Clarke was declared deceased.
An autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death.
Clarke was a first-round draft pick in 2019 and an All-Rookie First Team selection.
He averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in seven NBA seasons with Memphis.
This season he appeared in only two games, missing the majority of the season due to injuries.
Last month, Clarke was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing in a vehicle while exceeding the speed limit, and improper passing.
