The Boston Celtics may face a tough decision this offseason regarding guard Jaylen Brown. Former NBA player Chandler Parsons believes that the Celtics should consider trading Brown to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
"Giannis is different," Parsons said Tuesday on "The Herd". "The next 3-4 years you can really maximize his talent, his athleticism, his length... The other pieces around him in Boston would be an ideal fit."
All the trade speculation surrounding the Celtics moving on from Brown this offseason emerged after their first-round playoff loss to the 76ers. Boston is now looking for ways to avoid another early playoff exit, and moving on from Brown to land Antetokounmpo could be the best fix.
Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum could develop one of the best frontcourt duos in the NBA, but the Bucks would need to be on board with acquiring Brown, which may not align with their current plans.
Brown will turn 30 this fall, and the Bucks may see him as too old to consider for their rebuilding efforts. Milwaukee might be on the lookout for young star players to trade for Antetokounmpo, which could create challenges for the Celtics in any potential deal.
