As LeBron James ponders his future, Nick Wright believes the 23-year veteran's final act should be the Big Apple. On Tuesday's edition of First Things First, Wright spoke about why he believes that the New York Knicks would be a great destination for James if they don't end up winning the championship this season.
“But the ultimate legacy play is to go to the New York Knicks and try to win a championship, assuming they don't win the title this year… I think if they go to the finals and lose in almost any fashion other than maybe the way the Pacers lost last year, game seven with an injury question around it, he can go there, and he will get if they were to win, celebrated as the piece. And so it would be fourth ring with fourth team.”
Along with his pitch for James finishing his career in New York, he proposes a trade that he thinks would benefit the Lakers in this scenerio.

“And there's a very easy way to make that work as far as where he can get paid somewhat because it'd probably have to be, like, a sign and trade for Mikal Bridges or a sign and trade for OG Anunoby or something like that.”
James finishing his career with the New York Knicks would certainly be an interesting move that would draw massive eyes to the league at large. The Knicks are also a well-constructed roster that has been in contention in the East for the past few years. If they don't win the championship this year, perhaps James could be the piece needed to take them over the top.
