Daryl Morey is out as president of basketball operations with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told Shams Charania of ESPN.

He met with team owner Josh Harris and David Blitzer on Tuesday evening, and it was decided that he would step down as the team's top executive after six seasons.
Bob Myers, the president of sports for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, will lead the search for the 76ers’ next front-office boss and oversee the team’s basketball operations on an interim basis.
As such, Nick Nurse will stay as the team's head coach, according to Charania.
Following the 76ers' four-game downfall in the second round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs against the New York Knicks, rumblings instantly emerged around Morey and Nurse. It turned out that the latter will be the only one to stay.
Morey took over as the 76ers' president shortly after leaving the Houston Rockets in 2020. Under his leadership, the Sixers made it to five postseasons for the next six years, compiling a 270-212 regular-season record.
Unfortunately, at least a Conference Finals appearance remained elusive for the Sixers, as the team has yet to advance from the East Semifinals since 2000.
Trading away Ben Simmons for James Harden in 2022 and signing Paul George to a lucrative four-year max deal two years ago served as the key moves by Morey throughout his Sixers tenure.
He also drafted No. 3 pick VJ Edgecombe in last year's NBA Draft.
