How Arkansas basketball's NBA Draft Combine participants performed in opening drills

Four Arkansas men’s basketball players — Darius Acuff, Meleek Thomas, Billy Richmond and Trevon Brazile — participated in the NBA Draft Combine testing period on Tuesday. The tests are conducted to evaluate the physical traits and athleticism of prospects going through the draft process, with some players going through scrimmages on Wednesday and Thursday.

In total, 71 players participated on Monday and Tuesday, with each of the Razorbacks going Tuesday.

Acuff and Thomas, both freshmen, will not participate in the scrimmages. Brazile and Richmond will play on different teams in the games.

Acuff is a projected lottery pick, while Thomas entered the draft while maintaining his collegiate eligibility. Richmond, a sophomore, also maintained his collegiate eligibility. Brazile exhausted his eligibility this season.

The deadline for players to withdraw from the draft and return to school is May 27.

Much of the intrigue surrounding the combine has centered around Thomas and Richmond as they decide where their futures lie. Much of that will be determined with their workouts this week and the interviews they conduct with NBA franchises.

Thomas has been projected to be a late first- or early second-round pick in most mock drafts. Richmond has primarily appeared in the second round in draft projections.
