Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves simply had no answer against Victor Wembanyama, as the Spurs star dominated Game 5 on both ends.
Anthony Edwards was blunt enough to acknowledge Victor Wembanyama's overwhelming impact that led to his and the Minnesota Timberwolves' brutal 126-97 Game 5 loss.

As he was asked about the cause of the Wolves' awful start, Edwards simply identified Wembanyama as the primary reason for it.
"Tonight, some of the stuff that Wemby was doing, you don’t really have too much of an answer for it," Edwards interestingly said. "You just kind of hope he misses, but he was making [everything].
"He came out hot and made a bunch of shots. I feel like we adjusted and fought back into the game, trying to dig ourselves out of the hole, but eventually they created another lead and started running out in transition."
The French superstar erupted with 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and three blocks across 33 minutes.
Wembanyama's spectacular night came after a historic first quarter, wherein he already managed to register 18 points and six rebounds in the first 12 minutes of the game.
In the end, Edwards stands steadfast that he and the Timberwolves have to respond with their season on the line, as the second-round series will shift back to Minnesota for Game 6 on Friday.
"We’ve got to get back, get matched up," Edwards said, who finished with just 20 points, "Just game plan mistakes that we keep making, and it’s too late in the series to still be making these mistakes.”
