The San Antonio Spurs are getting their first taste of playoff basketball together this postseason, and they are handling the occasion well so far. Despite letting Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves slip away, the Spurs responded with a dominant 126-97 win on Tuesday night in San Antonio to take a 3-2 series lead.
San Antonio jumped out to a big early led before Minnesota rallied to tie the game at 61 early in the second half. However, the Spurs had one more run in them, eventually pulling away for the dominant win.
After the game, Spurs guard Stephon Castle spoke about San Antonio's point of emphasis coming into the game and how they regained control of the series, via Jeph Duarte of Pounding The Rock.

“I feel like the start of the game we knew it was gonna be physical,” Castle said. “Just making that a point of emphasis and trying to keep them off the offensive glass. I felt like we started the game off well and that's where our run came from.”

That point of emphasis paid off for the Spurs on the stat sheet. Mitch Johnson's squad finished with a plus-eight advantage on the glass and a dominant 68-36 advantage in points in the paint.
Victor Wembanyama led the way for the Spurs on the stat sheet as usual, finishing with 27 points and 17 rebounds in the win. Castle added 17 points on a hyper-efficient 8-of-11 from the field while Keldon Johnson added 21 off the bench.
On the other side, the Spurs held Anthony Edwards to just 20 points after he was the hero of Game 4. Julius Randle had another tough night from the field, and that led to a difficult game for the Timberwolves as a whole offensively.
If the Spurs can keep up that level of physicality heading back to Minnesota for Game 6, it will be very tough for the Wolves to get another win and send the series back to a Game 7.
