The Reading academy graduate made 73 senior appearances for the Royals, scoring seven goals and registering 14 assists across the Championship and the FA Cup before moving to Crystal Palace in 2021 and then to Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munch in 2024.
Since joining the German giants Bayern Munich, Olise has already amassed more than 100 appearances across all competitions having scored 42 goals and providing 46 assists so far - This year being a standout for the young French winger as his talent and performance in the Champions League have earnt him praise across the football world and a shout at the Ballon D'or.
So far this year in the Champions League, Olise has managed 13 appearances scoring five goals and providing six assists. One assist was crucial in Bayern's ability to secure their place in the semi-finals, as the winger found former Spurs striker Harry Kane to put them in control against Real Madrid in a 2-1 quarter-final first leg. In the second leg, Olise ensured that Bayern were on route to the semi-finals with a magnificent strike in stoppage time to secure a 4-3 victory.
"We see him every day and he does it at the highest level in the Champions League," Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany told Bein Sport about Olise.
"He'll surely be one of the best in the world one day. He's on the right track now. Everything he does is right. His level now is one of the best in Europe.
"But if I said now he's the best, people will ask how many titles he's won. He needs to keep going as he's done over the last 18 months. If he keeps going, we'll see what becomes of him."
Bacary Sagna is a former France right‑back best known for a decade in the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City, where he made over 250 appearances, won the FA Cup and League Cup, and earned 65 caps for his country, featuring at two World Cups and Euro 2016.
Sagna’s biggest career highlights include winning the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2014, lifting the League Cup with Manchester City in 2016, also being named in the PFA Team of the Year three times during his Premier League peak.
When asked how impressed he has been with Michael Olise and if he is a serious contender for a Ballon d’Or in the near future, Bacary Sagna told Oddschecker: “I think if he had won the Champions League this season, he would have won the Ballon D’or. The fact that Bayern went out against Paris stopped him basically, but he’s been phenomenal this season in the league and Champions League.
"He’s an artist on the pitch and the performances he gave to the fans this season was just amazing. But people unfortunately have a short memory and will only retain this last game against Paris, where he was not as good as he was in the other games so people started criticizing, and that will play against him (winning the Ballon D’or). However, he has been amazing this season.
"I don’t think he will get in the top 3 of the Ballon D’or rankings but can he win it in the next three or four years? Yes. I think Bayern had a great Champions League campaign overall. They had the gap of 20 minutes where Paris just battered them, and that cost them the semi-final. Also, they were very unlucky with referee decisions but that's football.”
