The Miami Heat are expected to be a prime trade suitor for Donovan Mitchell this summer if he doesn't sign an extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell is eligible to sign a max extension with the team this offseason, but if he doesn't agree to a new deal, there is already a team linked to a potential trade for the Cavs guard.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Miami Heat appear to be the prime suitor for Mitchell if he declines an extension with the Cavs.
"If the Cavs end up losing, what's going to happen with Donovan Mitchell? If he declines the extension with Cleveland, they almost have to look at trading Donovan, and Miami is very much going to be looking at acquiring him," Fischer revealed.
Mitchell and the Cavs are currently battling in a second-round playoff series against the Detroit Pistons, with the series tied 2-2.
This season, the 29-year-old All-Star is averaging 27.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
Mitchell is still under contract with the Cavs until the summer of 2027, with a $53.8 million player option for the 2027-28 season.
