The Sacramento Kings dealt with a handful of injuries this past season to some of their key players, with one of them being Keegan Murray. The forward missed time at the beginning of the season because of a UCL tear in his left thumb, but he was able to return.
Murray recently had to undergo another surgery, but not on this thumb, according to Kings insider James Ham.
“According to a league source, Keegan Murray underwent an arthroscopic procedure to remove loose bodies in his left ankle yesterday. The procedure was minimally invasive and will help Murray continue to progress through his return to play process. It’s a 6-8 week recovery from the procedure,” Ham wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The good news is that this shouldn't affect Murray's ability to be ready to play next season, and he's undergone the surgery at the right time.

Murray dealt with an ankle injury during the season that forced him to miss time toward the end of the season. He was only able to appear in 23 games this season, averaging 14.0 points.
In all, it was an injury-riddled season for the Kings, as players such as Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine had season-ending injuries. De'Andre Hunter had just gotten to the team before he was out for the season due to an eye injury.
That led the Kings to finish near the bottom of the Western Conference, and they have the No. 7 pick in this year's draft.
