3 best Josh Giddey trade destinations if Bryson Graham wants Bulls to move on

The Chicago Bulls have already undergone a complete overhaul since their season ended. Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, Arturas Karnisovas, was fired and replaced by Bryson Graham. The new decision-maker has already let go of Josh Malone, the general manager of the G League affiliate Windy City Bulls. Head coach Billy Donovan stepped down, too, so the team is in the process of finding a new coach.

Roster changes are likely the next thing to come. Josh Giddey is the team's best player, but nobody should be viewed as 100% safe heading into this offseason. The point guard is expected to be out for three months because of ankle surgery, but that won't stop trade rumors from circulating. If Graham decides that Giddey isn't the man to be the franchise player going forward, where could the Australian be traded?

3. The Houston Rockets could trade for Josh Giddey

The Houston Rockets have scorers, defenders, and athletes all over their roster. What they lacked this season was playmaking, and that was a known concern before the regular season even began. Fred VanVleet, Houston's would-be starting point guard, tore his ACL in the days leading up to the season, leaving the Rockets thin at point guard from the get-go.

Because of that, center Alperen Sengun served as the team's primary passer. While the big man is nicknamed Baby Jokic for a reason, it would probably be in Houston's best interest if he were more of a secondary playmaker rather than the team's leading assister. Trading for a pure point guard like Giddey would make a lot of sense, especially because it is unclear how VanVleet will look upon returning from a major injury.

Giddey has the size to play alongside an up-and-coming guard like Reed Sheppard. Plus, he'd complement the rest of the roster perfectly. Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers ever, and Amen Thompson is a freak athlete, but both players need the table set in order for their skill sets to be maximized.

2. Josh Giddey would fit with the Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have fully handed the reins of their franchise over to Cooper Flagg. The do-it-all former number one overall pick will need help for his team to take the next step in a stacked Western Conference, though. The return of Kyrie Irving will help, especially for Dallas' backcourt, but the Mavericks need even more.

In recent years, Irving has been more of a shooting guard who has played alongside jumbo point guards. His time with Luka Doncic is the prime example of this. Therefore, Irving and Giddey could fit together quite well. Irving could focus on what he is best at, and that is getting buckets, while Giddey could take on the primary facilitating duties.

The return of Irving and the development of Flagg is exciting, but that alone might not even be enough to get the Mavericks in the playoffs. They need more, and Giddey would be a perfect target this offseason. The Australian guard has already played five seasons, but he is still just 23 years old, so he fits Flagg's timeline, too.

The Clippers ranked dead last in assists per game this season. They only passed the ball leading to a score 23.7 times per game. Clearly, they need playmaking help. Enter Giddey, one of the league's best passers. The jumbo guard is able to get downhill and kick out to open teammates, he can find cutting slashers and big men ready for lobs, and he is willing to make the extra unselfish pass outside of the perimeter.

Darius Garland, Kawhi Leonard, Bennedict Mathurin, and Bradley Beal all look to score first. Having a player who will prioritize getting them clean looks would be really beneficial to the Clippers' offense. The Clippers aren't a bad team; they just need to add a few more pieces to round the roster out. Giddey should be one of them.
