The Washington Wizards were blessed by the basketball gods during the lottery, securing the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. There are couple of names who have been thrown around as potentially being the top pick, including AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson.
The annual NBA Draft combine is being held this week in Chicago, with the potential top picks taking part in the drills and measurement parts of the event. With the Wizards holding the top pick, both AJ Dybantsa and Cameron Boozer spoke about possibly being the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, as per Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
For Dybantsa, it would be a a testament to all the hard work he’s put in to this point.
“It would mean a lot. It just means that all my hard work has paid off. All the countless hours and the sacrifices that I made has paid off. That’s what I’m striving towards,” Dybantsa said.

For Boozer, he believes he would be a strong fit with the Wizards, who already have some key pieces in the frontcourt in Anthony Davis and Alex Sarr.
“I think I fit well there, their vision, their plan for the future,” Boozer said. “I don’t think I’m necessarily trying to show anything, just be myself. I feel like the right team will want me for who I am and for my values. It’s not necessarily trying to show anything.”
The NBA Draft is scheduled across two days, with the first round on June 23 and the second round on June 24.
