Warriors rumors: Stephen Curry’s career goal requires at least 3 more seasons

It's been 17 years of magic in the National Basketball Association for Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry, who will likely go down as the greatest three-point shooter in league history.

During his time in Golden State, the team has won a whopping four NBA championships in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022, more than some teams have won in their entire existence. And he's stated that he'd like to win at least one more before being forced to hang up his sneakers. He's played 17 years in the NBA and feels he has at least three more in him.

Over the years, team sources have informed ClutchPoints that Curry has made clear he wants to play 20 years in the NBA.

Curry has been open about his desire not only to elevate the team around him but also to be the best version of himself.

“All that goes into the obsession of trying to be the best basketball player that I can be, and trying to lift my team up and have them lift me up to be able to be relevant in that conversation,” Curry said via ClutchPoints in 2022. “And then, obviously, in the historical realm of basketball, there is another level. You talk about five-time champions and beyond that. It's a good place to start from, but I definitely want to get greedy.”

He's under contract through the upcoming season, having signed a one-year, $62 million deal. If he's truly intent on playing at least another two years beyond his current contract, it'll be up to him and the Warriors to come up with a deal that satisfies both sides.

So far in his career, he's averaged 24.8 points in 1,069 games, all with the Warriors.
